Acende mais brilhante que a lua cheia. Passa em alta velocidade, explode numa luminosidade ainda maior e some. Este evento aconteceu na noite de 20 de fevereiro.\u00c0s 22h27min (hor\u00e1rio local), testemunhas em Salvador, diversas cidades da Bahia e at\u00e9 mesmo em Sergipe, puderam ver um brilhante b\u00f3lido que surgiu ao largo da costa de Cama\u00e7ari e avan\u00e7ou muitos quil\u00f4metros oceano a dentro.<\/p>\n<p>Em instantes, muitas pessoas j\u00e1 come\u00e7aram a noticiar o acontecimento pelas redes sociais. De in\u00edcio foram somente coment\u00e1rios e\/ou perguntas sobre o fato. Depois, come\u00e7aram a surgir v\u00eddeos mostrando a magnitude do b\u00f3lido. Algo bem instigante para quem\u00a0gosta dos fen\u00f4menos celestes e ainda mais para quem pesquisa meteoros.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resumo de nossas an\u00e1lises<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ap\u00f3s duas semanas analisando os v\u00eddeos, conclu\u00edmos que este evento foi provocado pelo impacto de um grande meteoroide com a Terra. Na pr\u00e1tica, n\u00e3o muda nada em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao que j\u00e1 hav\u00edamos divulgado sobre esse b\u00f3lido (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bramonmeteor.org\/bramon\/meteoro-cruza-o-ceu-da-bahia-e-transforma-noite-em-dia\/\">Meteoro cruza o c\u00e9u da Bahia e transforma noite em dia<\/a>), mas a partir os dados de massa e di\u00e2metro aproximados do objeto, pudemos concluir que ele foi suficientemente grande para\u00a0ter tamanho superior a meio metro de di\u00e2metro e massa de\u00a0quase uma tonelada.<\/p>\n<p>Dentro do processo de an\u00e1lise, realizamos um comparativo e conclu\u00edmos tamb\u00e9m que este evento foi mais energ\u00e9tico do que o meteoro do Michigan, de <a class=\"_fcj\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=1711069782265556&amp;set=a.175226255849924.33993.100000876529036&amp;type=3&amp;comment_id=1711253348913866&amp;force_theater=true&amp;notif_id=1520465052500441&amp;notif_t=photo_comment&amp;ref=notif#\">16 de janeiro<\/a> desse ano. Comparando as imagens registradas nos dois eventos, isso fica bastante evidente.\u00a0 Enquanto no Michigan, quase todos os v\u00eddeos foram gravados a menos de 80 Km do meteoro, na Bahia, nenhum v\u00eddeo foi registrado a menos de 100Km. E ainda assim, o meteoro na Bahia j\u00e1 parece ser mais luminoso. O b\u00f3lido da Bahia entrou na atmosfera com um \u00e2ngulo de cerca de 49\u00b0 e explodiu a cerca de 133Km da costa. A estimativa de energia liberada na passagem do meteoro equivale a 8,5 ton. de TNT.<\/p>\n<p>A partir de estimativa de energia, brilho e dos dados da cin\u00e9tica do meteoro, pudemos concluir que a massa se encontrava entre 700kg e 1100kg. E, considerando a densidade m\u00e9dia do tipo mais comum de meteorito (Condritos), inferimos que o meteoroide tinha um di\u00e2metro m\u00ednimo de 0,70m, podendo chegar a 0,85m de di\u00e2metro. Com este tamanho, este peda\u00e7o de rocha espacial quase entra na categoria de pequeno asteroide (Rubin &amp; Grossman, 2010), em conson\u00e2ncia com a classifica\u00e7\u00e3o da Uni\u00e3o Astron\u00f4mica Internacional.<\/p>\n<p>Tudo sugere que entre 30kg e 45kg de material chegaram at\u00e9 a superf\u00edcie \u00e1gua. Mas como o ponto do impacto ocorreu a mais de 130km da costa, n\u00e3o houve riscos para a popula\u00e7\u00e3o.\u00a0Ou seja, a passagem desse meteoro gerou meteoritos, mas antes que algu\u00e9m se anime, a regi\u00e3o onde a massa principal caiu fica afastada da costa e tem uma profundidade m\u00e9dia de 3500 metros.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Detalhamento das an\u00e1lises<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ap\u00f3s os surgimentos dos primeiros v\u00eddeos, come\u00e7ou ali, a primeira etapa de uma intensa pesquisa. Marcelo Zurita, Andrei Lima\u00b9, Gabriel Gon\u00e7alves\u00b2 e Rubens Damigl\u00ea\u00b3 se dividiram entre as tarefas de pesquisar e encontrar v\u00eddeos deste evento. Era o in\u00edcio das estimativas angulares que envolviam as marca\u00e7\u00f5es dos pontos inicial e final do b\u00f3lido, a partir de quaisquer v\u00eddeos que fossem sendo anexados ao trabalho. Por fim, eram quatro v\u00eddeos com imagens diretas e outros tantos com imagens indiretas do b\u00f3lido. Felizmente, algumas c\u00e2meras associadas \u00e0 BRAMON e que operam na regi\u00e3o de visibilidade do b\u00f3lido ajudaram na determina\u00e7\u00e3o de um hor\u00e1rio mais preciso do ocorrido. Os pesquisadores Alexsandro Mota e Romualdo Arthur tinham v\u00eddeos que registravam o brilho do b\u00f3lido, mas n\u00e3o o meteoro diretamente.<\/p>\n<p>Assim, de posse da mat\u00e9ria prima da an\u00e1lise, o grupo dedicado ao b\u00f3lido iniciou as avalia\u00e7\u00f5es de \u00e2ngulos e intervalos de tempo. Avalia\u00e7\u00e3o de frame por frame, sincroniza\u00e7\u00e3o de v\u00eddeos, cria\u00e7\u00e3o de gabaritos angulares. Basta voc\u00ea imaginar a dificuldade de se fazer uma marca\u00e7\u00e3o de azimute e eleva\u00e7\u00e3o para uma trajet\u00f3ria de meteoro a partir de um v\u00eddeo obtido em um carro em movimento a 242km de dist\u00e2ncia. Eram provenientes de c\u00e2meras localizadas em pontos suficientemente distantes para ampliar os efeitos de paralaxe. De fato, quando nos baseamos somente por relatos das testemunhas \u00e9 muito comum surgirem desencontros de informa\u00e7\u00f5es. Isto em si, n\u00e3o \u00e9 um problema se tivermos muitos relatos.\u00a0 Pois uma vez que tenhamos um grande n\u00famero de pessoas relatando um evento desta natureza, ser\u00e1 poss\u00edvel separar os testemunhos desencontrados. As refer\u00eancias visuais s\u00e3o importantes, mas exigem um alto n\u00edvel de imprecis\u00e3o nos relatos. A equipe BRAMON que se envolveu nesta an\u00e1lise, partiu do pressuposto de que os v\u00eddeos teriam qualidade suficiente para gerar uma interpreta\u00e7\u00e3o objetiva dos fatos, sem opini\u00f5es ou &#8220;achismos&#8221;. Os relatos pessoas ent\u00e3o foram sendo adicionados de forma consistente, para um panorama robusto do evento. Encontrar a velocidade em si, n\u00e3o \u00e9 nada dif\u00edcil: \u00e9 apenas dividir o espa\u00e7o percorrido pelo tempo. Mas a baliza do tempo estava problem\u00e1tica. Obviamente, mesmo que o meteoro parecesse ter velocidade diferente a partir de cada v\u00eddeo, s\u00f3 existiria uma resposta certa. Era necess\u00e1rio ent\u00e3o, promover uma converg\u00eancia das velocidades e depois, ajustar-se os tempos. Ap\u00f3s sucessivas determina\u00e7\u00f5es, a velocidade mais acertada foi surgindo como numa ass\u00edntota. Chegou-se a um valor de 11.8km\/s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Uma vez que tiv\u00e9ssemos a trajet\u00f3ria e a velocidade, era o momento de determinar a \u00f3rbita do meteoro. De in\u00edcio, Lauriston Trindade tentou esta determina\u00e7\u00e3o utilizando os conceitos do m\u00e9todo de Gauss. Foram obtidas v\u00e1rias solu\u00e7\u00f5es para \u00f3rbitas poss\u00edveis. Infelizmente, este m\u00e9todo depende enormemente de uma entrada de dados o mais precisa poss\u00edvel.\u00a0 E a estimativa inicial de inclina\u00e7\u00e3o da \u00f3rbita mostrou-se equivocada. Isso gerou resultados distantes do que viria a ser demonstrado como acertado.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">O grupo que estava determinando os azimutes e eleva\u00e7\u00f5es do meteoro passou a revisar tudo, oferecendo pontos mais bem definidos e com menores margens de erro. Com base nesta inclina\u00e7\u00e3o foi poss\u00edvel saber se seu encontro com a Terra ocorreu em seu nodo ascendente ou descendente. Assim, alguns par\u00e2metros orbitais foram revelados. Com o \u00e2ngulo de entrada na atmosfera, avaliado em 49\u00ba e com a velocidade geoc\u00eantrica j\u00e1 anotada, conseguimos determinar a velocidade sideral do meteoroide. Esta velocidade \u00e9 importante para determinarmos os par\u00e2metros de semi-eixo maior e excentricidade. style=\"text-align: left;\">A caracteriza\u00e7\u00e3o de uma \u00f3rbita se d\u00e1 por meio de seis par\u00e2metros, a saber: semi-eixo maior da \u00f3rbita, dist\u00e2ncia do peri\u00e9lio, excentricidade, inclina\u00e7\u00e3o, longitude do nodo ascendente e argumento do periastro. No centro e ao alto, vemos o b\u00f3lido, que estava a mais de 200km de dist\u00e2ncia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Era fundamental termos uma estimativa da magnitude absoluta do b\u00f3lido. para tal, bastar\u00edamos ter uma estimativa de magnitude aparente do mesmo e adicionar uma corre\u00e7\u00e3o de dist\u00e2ncia para como seria visto \u00e0 100km.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Como refer\u00eancias utilizamos as pr\u00f3prias l\u00e2mpadas da ilumina\u00e7\u00e3o p\u00fablica presentes na imagem de Concei\u00e7\u00e3o do Coit\u00e9 &#8211; BA. Alexsandro Mota deslocou-se at\u00e9 o ponto de visada da c\u00e2mera e efetuou medi\u00e7\u00f5es da luminosidade de tais l\u00e2mpadas para gerar um gabarito de magnitudes. Como a energia luminosa \u00e9 resultado da perda de massa do meteoroide, pudemos estimar assim, a perda total de massa durante sua passagem atmosf\u00e9rica.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Os c\u00e1lculos foram validados atrav\u00e9s de um modelo matem\u00e1tico que simula a f\u00edsica da passagem de meteoros pela atmosfera da Terra. Esse mesmo modelo, em todas as situa\u00e7\u00f5es simuladas, calculou a massa resultante em torno de 4,2% da massa inicial.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">A conclus\u00e3o \u00e9 que o meteoroide que gerou o b\u00f3lido do \u00faltimo dia 20 de fevereiro tinha pelo menos 725 Kg de massa, o que, para a densidade de um condrito ordin\u00e1rio, resultaria em um di\u00e2metro de aproximadamente 70 cm. O termo &#8220;pelo menos&#8221; \u00e9 utilizado porque esse c\u00e1lculo foi feito utilizando magnitudes conservadoras.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Assim, a energia liberada na passagem do meteoro foi equivalente a 8,5 ton. de TNT.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Agradecimentos<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Agradecemos a todos que comp\u00f5em a BRAMON.
